By adding more economic problems, the Department of Justice United States has announced that five airlines have agreed to pay fines for 504 million dollars for conspiring to fix prices of their loads.
According to the airlines involved are Cathay Pacific, the Danish Martinairy the Scandinavian SAS, along with Air France and KLM, which are controlled by the same holding company, which must pay $ 350 million.
The payment agreement comes after a major investigation of the air cargo industry conducted by the anti-trust division, which also announced that the fine imposed on Air France-KLM is the second highest paid in history of the division.
To set the fine, local justice discovered that in the period between May 2001 and February 2006, these companies negotiated and agreed prices charges that affected the rest of the companies in the market.
